Cleaning Or Screaming

Updated on October 21, 2015

What Am I Waiting For

Putting it off till later

Another time

Because I don't want to get into this mess

I like a neat and clean house

I love to move around our house clear of clutter

My problem lies

In junk mail, newspapers and books

I find them all fascinating

There are many things to learn

Trying to be creative and resourceful

Advertisers spend millions to get you to listen

If only I can capture their techniques and style

I make time for reading the newspaper

I am old fashioned

Looking at the words in bold print

The joy of reading

Reinforced by the sound of the pages rattling

Folding the top corner

So I can read more later

I constantly change my interests

Lifting a book to read a few pages

Then dreaming my boldest dreams ever

Seeing authors who inspire and encourage

All of us to reach for the moon

As if it was easy as a snowflake in the middle of a snow storm

Then after trying many times

My dreams broken as easy as an egg is dropped

My spirit some how addicted to the chase

As my motivation is through the roof

I constantly continue an uphill battle

Trying to reinvent the tire

Making it wonderful and incredible

The way it should be

Not the one I have before me

With a flat and damaged beyond repair

So as you can see

My mind is made up

There is a better way to do things

I just haven't found a way to tell the world

So as I continue on my journey

Lifting up an out dated newspaper

Other people would of tossed

As easy as blinking

Seeing an article of a woman who took her own life

Because of depression and the great feeling all is lost

If I could of only found a way

To lift her spirits

Make her feel good about herself and others

She would still be here today

Her life doesn't affect all the people who still wake up and live their lives

Just as if her life didn't matter

To me I can't forget

That life could of been my friend

My mother or sister

Then how would you feel ?

What would you try to do ?

Would you take another look ?

If it was your daughter ?

Gypsy Rose Lee I love the way you use your free time. You have learned to love being together with your wonderful husband and also loving alone time just as much. I spend a lot of time getting to know me. My wife complements every thing I do. Now that your husband has returned home you have a lot of catching up to do. I wonder if they had classes in high school to each children at an early age to spot the signs and seek help before it is too late. Thank you so much for your delightful comments.

I think that the greatest problem with people who get depressed and take their own life is that they never learned to be their own best friends. Well I am of course not taking about the chronic depressions because that is an entirely different story and so much more difficult to control. Your average depression and anxiety that happens living day to day. I just spent two entire months alone at home with my darling cat Sid. Hubby was in Australia on a business trip trying hard to get us out of some debts. During this time I didn't get depressed or anxious even once. I discovered that my cat was like a real roommate even though he couldn't talk just meow. We discovered a lot about ourselves during this time and got quite close. I can even say that my hubby is Sid's best buddy but I feel that he cannot understand why papa left him like that. It will be interesting to see what happens when hubby returns tomorrow. I grew closer to myself. Every day when I met my goals and did other things well I praised myself and everything was A OK.

MsDora All we can do is try. It is easy to get discouraged unless you have a plan. Then you have to stick with the plan to make it work. Life takes us in so many different direction . I refer back to the weather many times in my writings. One day sunny and warm. The next day I am chilled right to the bone. Rainy and lazy. They connect directly to my moods. I never know what to expect and so is life. Thank you for your encouragement and support. I love everyone who takes the time to write. It is a lot of hard work. It is easier to live each day and not care about the outcome or or what we do or don't do. Once you begin to question life you have many questions and few answers. Then as you look at even the answers you have you have more thoughts and different answers. Your mind changes as you learn. What you thought true yesterday may not be true today. I am happy to be alive and well. Everything else in life is a plus. Have a lovely day.

"Haven't found a way to tell the world," but you're generating ideas in those who read, and your influence is more far-reaching than you think; so keep on keeping on.

Michael-Milec New things are created every day. From thinking the same thoughts in a different way. How can we become the best we are suppose to be ? Challenging ourselves to find our true potential. Helping the world see the beauty in every day. From a simple leaf that seems so insignificant to the water that is more precious than objects like gold, silver and diamonds because they keep us alive and well. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts on so many of my poems. I am honored by your insight and wisdom. So many people only see what they want to see. They live their lives to satisfy their own needs and desires, Leaving the rest of the world to fend for itself. They always ask Why should I ? Instead of a better question How can I ? Have great night.

Your best line 'There is a better way to do things

I just haven't found a way to tell the world',

      - made me to think of "A perpetuum mobile (perpetual motion) of the first kind" which " cannot exist" , yet in this your poem seems to me as you are taking time it might exist in certain instances...
