Cold Poetry

Updated on November 24, 2015

Cold

Turned your heart from the world
All I see is dollar signs in your eyes
You're no friend at all
You had me convinced that you were
Once upon a time
Your touch left me cold
And lost from all you took
From me, you swindled every word
Syllables hidden
But they're recited perfectly now
Led me down your evil path
Cuz I kept your stride
Listened painstakingly to the sound
Of your hightops on the ocean floor
You chose not to catch me
Even though I was slipping
Through unclean fingers
Marked up by something
I cannot even remember seeing
Told you things I regret now
Written and tattooed in my mind
I shouldn't have bothered with you
So now you're a lesson learned
Sad to say though
That I still care
Guess I was in it deeper than you
But, I can't afford you anymore

Ice Cold Inside

Great poem describing an unfortunate friendship. Amazing accompanying pics too.

Yep, I was describing the issues at hand to be "environmental", it was more a reason of circumstance. I put us in an virtual reality type of place that had no real rhyme or reason other than that's the way it was. I was hinting that either persons have no permanent residence which is why they are where they are. Thank you for your comment, Frank.

Thanks. That's greatly appreciated. I had a friend who ended up not being a friend at all. He took me for some money. Poetry is a fantastic escapade, it's a difficult one if you're just starting out, but worth the challenge in the end.

This was really great. Very deep and meaningful. It makes me want to try and write poetry myself. You are very talented!
