Colored Prejudices

Updated on June 19, 2012

Racism is a menace dwelling in the rotten girths of mankind. After I read the hub about it today by my friend Mike I decided to spread the word against it in my own way.

Then I read another article about stopping racism by my friend Angela Brummer. All the facts and the abstract philosophies these two fantastic hubbers discussed have to be credited for my inspiration behind this verse.

I urge you to read the two hubs whose links I have given below... and commend the work of these talented and respected hub authors.

Thou hast nay right to look a man down

Thou hast nay might to put on a crown

In the court of God all fall the same

Bereft of senses is thy folly game

Your hem of sins preach corrupt services

Rancid desperation seek thy colored prejudices

Laws you put forth bear no logic

The haughtiness in you, utterly tragic

Along with your followers your den smells stale

Nothing you are but meek and frail

Thy treacherous lust bears umpteen crevices

Selfish in interest thy colored prejudices

No color no creed made us separate in existence

No man no breed is superior in acceptance

When look through his eyes of which power you not have

We look alike from above, the place of all calve

A soul of such lame bias faces hells furnaces

Shunned by the righteous thy colored prejudices

The base you choose so weak in rationale

While all is the same, you’re too blind to fall

The sky is blue for everyone’s sight

The rose smells nice to each souls Delight

A realm of deceit you hide in fleeces

Disgust they bring thy colored prejudices

The blood in my veins is red throughout

Is thy blood of another color!... I doubt

Bifurcation of brotherhood is a dire crime

Such infamy and regard not worth a dime

Uplift thyself above these mental disturbances

There is evil inside in thy Colored Prejudices

Stop! Oh Brethren! Stop for God’s sake

Have mercy on him, he weeps in thy make

Sent you as brothers not to kill your own

His displeasure evident in painful mourn

The earliest you see I yearn for your premises

Redeem thyself away from Colored Prejudices

Will racism ever end? I doubt it! All we as writers can do is raise awareness and hope that others read our words and learn from them. Great hub my friend with a powerful message.

Powerful poem here Rahul, and in the order of gods calling to bring hatred down, and to give rise to love of brotherhood, and sisterhood amongst all that dwell in this earth's dominion, one day we will see this truth come to pass, and hopefully before I leave this planet.

I will not let all of my efforts go to waste, all the attempts to help energize such a positive movement of vibes back into the stream of things in this life.

I must say that this is some beautiful poetry here Rahul, that will definitely add to such worldly happiness between peoples, that can, and will come to see such a promising light of day & in due time. Thanks for the put up for me, and for sharing Angela's as well.

rahul....very moving and powerful....so honest and real. My hope for this world of ours, has always been and will continue to be that man sees only with his heart. ....and that ignorance will die.

If each one makes the effort and takes a stand.....to be accepting and tolerant of all....it will spread, in time.

If negative can thrive......why not goodness? If evil spreads.....lets move it aside to make room for rightgeousness.

It all begins with us........................Awesome hub and thank you for the links. Up+

Rahul that is a deep subject and I love your kindness. What I am writing may be a little strange and I am writing it any way. I believe It all about peoples attitude. I do not believe I have ever experienced racial prejudice although I am afraid that as I grow older and start losing my looks that I may encounter many prejudice. I wish all types of prejudice would stop

This is beautifully written, a lesson to be learned by many. It still exists after all this time eventhough it is hidden in public. The white race claims superiority when in reality we are the minotity. Thank you for the share..Very important article...

Nicely done, Rahul...thumbs up! True racism in any direction is a function of ignorance and fear. Here in the USA, we have two types, the real stuff and that which is created by those who making a living or gain political power by creating division. Many of the ethnic groups are beginning to recognize this form of manipulation and turn their backs to it. As long as there is a dollar to be made by raising racial strife, it will exist here...a sad reality. I grew up in the south during the 60's and witnessed the civil rights chaos first-hand. I wrote a piece about it that might give you some additional perspective on the subject. The hub is called "Mississippi June". WB

Excellent work of art with deep meaning. Being Puerto Rican and growing up in the 50's and 60's in Chicago I have seen prejudicism from both the white and the black sides. Then again there were always folks around of both colors who ignored the day and took me in as a friend. Those were the folks who knew their own way and did not run with the pack.

The is no base, there is no rationale, there is only weakness and fear that cumulates in hate. I believe that in today's world where the globe is a plate and anywhere is accessible; the menace of racism exists only due to the upbringing of certain people in their environments. Often I come across people making racial jokes in front of their kids; not quite realising how they are imprinting their children with a notion of racism that will only grow with time.

Words of truth Qudsia! no one is born a racist.. it is the upbringing and environment which affects one's mind...

Parents and people should be more cautious of their actions..

thank you for throwing your wonderful insight

      Hi Oceanrider

I am humbled that my work could connect to you. I am glad to know I have some support in my motives. Bigotry and racism are menaces which have sufficed to lurk in the gutters of mankind for quite some time now...

Let's make a move towards removing them .. :) Thank you my friend

A lovely composition of words reflecting the repugnant nature of racism. It is a learned emotion, to hate another because of his or her color.

The other day whilst locking my car I glanced across at another vehicle that had a little white boy around the age of 2, fervently waving at me. I had to pass by and say hello, he was so cute. When he waved he didn't see color, he just saw another human being he liked. His mother said 'aww that's so nice'. But as I walked away I thought, in 10 years time would that little boy be so free and uninhibited to greet someone of another color? Maybe not as he would have been corrupted by the learned prejudices of society.

Hello DeAnna.... thank you for your kind words and what a provoking experience you had here...

one should indeed ponder from the POV of the child.... who has no biases... who takes no sides... who does not differentiate...

In fact this experience in a more elaborate way proves that ... these unholy prejudices are vices men have created for themselves.... and spoiled the holy name of god by doing so...

Thank you for such a deep insight my friend

Rahul, it doesn't get any better than when an artist can use his craft to better his world and this poem is a great example. It is beautiful, powerful and carries a profound message that needs to be heard! Here's hoping it gets a tone of traffic. Well-written too, my friend. Great job! Voted up, awesome and shared!
