In this world…in this world

In this world…in this world

Did you hear the message

that your heart has just shown?

The same old story—

emotional storm.

You’ve lost all hope

from their own truth.

The same old story.

The same old storm.

So free yourself from the pain.

Come into…come into your life.

Did you hear the message

that your mind is playing?

A lifeless dream

is what it’s saying.

So dream you poor fool.

Life is not fun.

The world you want

will never come.

So free yourself from the pain.

Come into…come into your life.

Be yourself; don’t be afraid.

Come into…come into your life.

In this world…in this world

In this world…in this world

Did you know this world

it’s in your hands?

Did you know the truth

it’s where you stand?

There is no time

to live in despair.

The love you look for

burns inside.

So free yourself from the pain.

Come into…come into your life.

Be yourself; don’t be afraid.

Come into…come into your life.

Features the song "Come Into Your Life."

About This Song

“Come Into Your Life” was originally entitled “Free Yourself” that I wrote in 1987. The song is about breaking free from things that stop you from being the person that you truly are. The chorus and first and second verse of the song were revised. I also added a third verse, as well as an intro/bridge.

The first and second verse of the song explains the effects that a negative environment can have on a person. For example, if a child is constantly told by their parents that they are a loser every day, there is a strong possibility that the child may feel like a loser. Verbal abuse can be extremely detrimental to those of a sensitive nature. There are many that never get over past abuses of childhood. Then we have those that have healed past traumas and go out into the world to help others.

In the third verse, we see a transformation of the individual. This person realizes that they are a Powerful Creator. They can turn their life around. They also realize that they are not alone. There is a loving Creator that is here for us. The Creator is inside us and all around us. We could also refer to this force as love.

The love we look for burns inside.

Thanks Vinaya for the wonderful comment. I was sixteen when I wrote it.

I have published the words to my songs in my book "The Shadow and the Soul: Poetry & Lyrics." However, I haven't actually published the songs.

I would love to someday take my songs to a professional recording studio and get them professionally recorded.

You wrote this in 1987, that's wonderful, I was just seven years then. You seem to be writing songs for a long time. have you published your songs?

      Hi Terry27

I thought this was a beautiful Hub. I understand, or at the least, when reading your song, it made me think of letting go of fear and the things that hold us back; and when we do that,we are whole again. The love is in us, we just have to "let go" to see it.
