Come, Walk With Me

Updated on February 20, 2014

Anan is an online blogger and private consultant since 2009 in the areas of relationships and interfaith spirituality.

One thousand and one nights

of mysteries and seeking God.

In the skirts of a far away land

surrounded by visions of eternity.

Lies the sound of our own mortality.

Singing the melody of the universe.

Where the compass of time

has its own north

among the burning sand.

Come, walk with me.

Let me show you how to set your soul free.

There, among the oasis of your heart,

is the meaning of love and sacrifice.

Where the sorrows of the world

has not touched the clear waters of life.

There, between the memories and hopes,

God has his throne and staff.

There, untouched,

uncorrupted is the love of ages

the art and wisdom of sages

to grant you the gift of forgiveness.

      Hi Leslie,

I will never understand how Human beings can do such things. Probably never will. I spent decades trying to master the art of letting go. Sometimes, resentment's ugly head shoes up in my mouth. Then I mirror the object of my disdain. Is not pretty to become the thing you hate, is painful. The only way to stop a monster y to make sure that we never become one. I learned the HARD way, I could never change others. I confess the only emotion that surfaces in times like these is of pity. I spent hours reading and going through news feeds, Fear, hate and confusion is expected. I feel powerless to make it right. The only thing I can do is not let these monsters turn me into someone like them, a heartless animal. Is not worth it my dear friend. Hate + hate = mutual destruction. They lost their capacity to love, I want to keep what is left of my heart. XOXO

      sigh...forgiveness...

before the bombings the other day - i'd have fallen in love with this poem and agreed with every word..

but right now, anan - i'm pretty pissed off and my forgiveness meter is lacking..

my opinion of your talent - on the other hand - is very, VERY high!

voting up and sharing forward my dear friend!

A lovely poem. Forgiveness is so important, both for the one forgiving and for the one forgiven.
