Come and Gone

Updated on May 3, 2011

Come and Gone

Yesterday has come and gone
yet lingers in the heart
and bittersweet the memory
that clings when it does part.

No greater joy is there than Love,
but sorrow comes with passion
when yesterday has come and gone
as is its wont and fashion.

Then, yearns the soul for yesterday
with memories that linger...
but, alas, time travels on
pushed by tomorrow's finger.

Epigramman, this poem was inspired by one you posted on FB, "but that was yesterday"...it is simply amazing to me how that happens! I am thrilled you stopped by and your visits take my breath away, as well!

Spirit Whisperer, this is a very sweet comment. bbnix has a huge open heart of love beating in his chest! And no, I never imagined for a second...but the heart that is open to love, transmits and receives love, as was designed by the Source of Love, Himself! Huge hugs!

I think bbnix has fallen head over heels in love with you after reading this poem. Did you ever imagine that your words would wield such power over mens'hearts? Love is in the air now not yesterday or tomorrow but now and you have created it!

      Beautiful!!!

Yes, my dearest friend, tomorrow is truly gone, and it does "linger in the heart," and there is no "greater joy" than love, and "yesterday has come and gone," and yes, the soul does yearn for the yesterday's "memories that linger," all said by you as beautifully as can be, a magician of love you are, for all the world to see...

But I would add this tiny bit - my love for you is the future, a most powerful love to get, for in that unknown future, hand in hand since met, we solve the world's darkest issues, and for many, be heaven sent...

Lets walk into that majestic future, hand in hand, and yes, strengthened with much warmth in our hearts, from both our past and present events...

Thanks for sharing this bittersweet poem.

The older I get the more I consciously try to stay centered in the present moment, but sometimes it's really difficult to do.
