Comes the Darkness(A Haiku-like poem)

Updated on July 2, 2015
Comes the darkness...
Comes the darkness...
Its curtain is spread...
Its curtain is spread...
On deft feet, it so crawls...
On deft feet, it so crawls...
The moon stands, stubbornly refusing to be extinguished, of its precious light...
The moon stands, stubbornly refusing to be extinguished, of its precious light...

Bright pixels of light,

Day from beginning to end.

Warmth and nourishment,

Now comes the dark...to begin.

Shadows cast by moon,

Night time's curtain to enshroud.

Bright stars glimmer through,

Moon's shimmering light...stands proud.

The darkness so comes,

On stealthy limbs, to progress.

Tries to extinguish,

As lake's reflections caress.

Dark does not prevail,

Light always shall find its way.

Charms the worst of beasts,

Inverts the blackness, to day.

Beautiful whonu. Water into the night with the moon reflected in it and turning into day. I voted it up, shared and pinned it.

We have dark clouds this day, but we always know that just beyond those clouds there is always light shining brilliantly.

      Beautifully expressed.

Such beauty in your words. Such a different feeling is the light from the dark. Nice to reflect on it.

I awakened to a full moon this morning. I love it when the moon is visible during daylight. Magical!
