A Free Verse Sonnet

Compassion rains and reigns,

While here we try …

We know it’s never easy.

Taking a while to manifest Itself,

The Light brings Its own trials;

Its own disguised form of Love.

Ultimately everything blossoms, like the rose.

One needs neither negate nor curse, but surrender.

Whatever happens in Divine Providence,

Has its own inherent reasons.

O Lantern, while we may not see it,

The glory of heaven, like the mother who

Protects the child with a smart slap,

Is always fruitful of good and Light.

Quote from a Seer

“Compassion and grace are the same thing, but compassion is much more intense. The same grace, when it has tremendous intensity is called compassion. Water is everywhere, but when there is a torrential rain, you can say compassion is descending...” –Sri Chinmoy

      When I think of rain I think of my hometown. When I think of reign I think of King Donald in D.C. When I think of beautiful poetry, I think of you.

      My family loves these notions. The rain and the reign. Our Lord for us does both.
