Concerning a Beautiful Heart

Updated on April 8, 2011

Look in to the eye of a stranger

A lover will do just as well

Or someone you hate

like or berate

take a gander into hell

see the world unbroken

see harmonies rhythms and patterns

know what is inside

see what people hide

study ends that sate

understand passion

comprehend fear

rid yourself of every susceptible trait

see your self anew

in the eyes of a child

be common with them

cultivate innocence again if you can

then cast your eyes to the stars

comprehend Jupiter, Mars

see things blend and move without end

reverently consider the cause

then drop to your knees

there cry and plead

for the lost and seek for your way

to do what you can

then will you know

the hearth that will glow

the power of peace

holding your life in the palm of your hand.

Don't say it cant happen

I know better my friend

but if you will not

then your right

Now is the time though

what will you do with your time?

      Thank you for your poem...

"Let each man see his own heart in reflection.."

Let each man see his own heart in reflection but the truth be hidden in the obscure possibility of objective thinking. Long have I sought to shape thought by dent of statements I thought to be appropriate but persuaded not a soul. So then I rap myself in the obscurity of my intents and prompt such responses as I can and trouble them into such reprisal as suits them.

      Ahh to return to that

      innocence ....although pure

      Finer than even then....

      introspective for sure

      I did this once.... passing

      through time

      Though I have come back

      except.... without my mind

      And now ....what of now

can't we just live both lives now

      Oh just can't work

      my heart doesn't know how

So I will dwell in the past

      but only when you're here

      Without you beside me

      I won't go for fear

Some of us never Lose that child like innocence...which there is certainly a time and a place for as we walk through this Hectic thing called Life. I like the simplicity of this piece Jaggedfrost, but the message is loud and clear. Good one!

I am not sure it is possible to remove the knowledge but it IMO is possible to remove the sting and the need to dwell on the past even to the point of forgetfulness without defensiveness.

"cultivate innocence again if you can" -- that really sums up the journey for many people, I feel. To capture what was lost in the hustle of life. When we're young, we're so eager to try it all, to put ourselves out there. After that, it's all about returning to that place of innocence.
