CONJUGATIONS : (π)

I remember when my uncle died,

When I walked in the snow,

When the fat kid cried.

They all sit cluttering

The folds of my mind.

But mostly I remember when the fat kid cried.

I remember lurking on the stair

Sobbing into my sleeve

Racked with maudlin despair.

It’s all tattooed

On the skin of my mind.

But God, how I remember when the fat kid cried.

I remember sitting by the lake

When the days were slow.

When my hands didn’t shake.

It’s all gone blurry

Right in front of my eyes.

And yet I still remember when the fat kid cried.

Great poetry Kais! It gets the reader to understand the connection between the Fat kid crying and the narrator... Who Tells... I believe his tale..

I think he is the fat kid who's crying

Racked with maudlin despair: Blew me away!

You are welcome! Any time! I love poems, although I am not a good writer of them myself. Good job.

Hey shea: Thank you. It's been rattling around in my head unfinished for years. But yesterday I finally put it down on paper. Thanks for your comment.
