Connectivity Insanity

Updated on September 18, 2012

Why is it

That we all must live

by every word

every bite

the beeps, the whurr

the "I cannot connect"

seem to dictate

what day we have

life used to have much more.

the drive of life

sent us out of doors

but even in this writing hell

we are chained to the thought

"You've got mail"

Time and again

I try to walk away

but even my phone

makes me a fool to say, "it doesn't matter"

If I don't know

a status or message

when questioned about

my updates or usage

if I can't answer

to the ones I love

about how much I am chained

to this plastic ball

then feelings are hurt

I must live off the difference

what should it matter?

Not at all

but it does and it will

somehow that galls

What to do?

What to say?

why is this a piper I always must pay

I couldn't connect this morning

it bit bites

I called someone in India

most likely

to solve the the woe

my wife fixed it

two moments many taps

she succeeded and won

Now chagrin I sit

tapping out my frustrations

almost ironic

this plastic sensation

Life goes on I suspect

but what a life it is

defined by the way we pseudo-express

and almost exist

on an Internet highway

where anything can happen.

almost as confined

as the neighborhoods we live in

And worse yet

because it is the nerds

that mug us

instead of the bums
