Consoling Words Of A Father (limerick)

Updated on February 13, 2015

My son came in last in a race

I told him it wasn’t disgrace

Just meet every task

Is all that I ask

But put on this mask just in case

My sons both ran cross country, as did I. You hit the nail on the head Martin.

Funny and true. Parents will always appear to support their children but fear the loss of face. Thanks for sharing, Hatter.

This was a beauty, Martin, me lad,

So reminiscent of many a Dad.

My love for you, son, remains steadfast,

Unless you race and come in dead last.
