Contract Killer

Updated on March 10, 2011

Tonight, I am…

...

...

The cause to your lifeless effect

The heartless crime to your victim

Perpetuating every aspect

With self-satisfying outcome

A smile pierces the darkness

Gleaming beneath the moon

Assuredly,  I’m harmless

To your pleading, I’m immune

It’s a little late now, isn’t it?

To escape your end, avoid your fate

I intend to have fun, I admit

Nothing was ever up for debate

Contracts speak louder than my given word

Even a hardened killer has bills to pay

I requested someone else,  for the record

But I see that we’re not making headway

We can do this the easy way for you

Or you can make it harder on yourself

Either way, to me, it’s not an issue

I’ve only come here to enjoy myself

Blood is accented well by moonlight

It reminds me what I really am

You need not be so very uptight

It’s all just a part of the program

Well - we all have our preferences. Mine are generally pretty broad and eclectic but sometimes I have to probe the value in a plot before I can get into its overriding violence. There is something about me which tends to be less eager to jump on popular bandwagons if they seem inherently foreign to my principles. Is that too old-fashioned or something?

I guess you hadda be there. Maybe I'll check out the movie trailer at least. But your ditty is pretty much descriptive, according to more knowing comments. hehe

Oh - btw - what IS the movie title?

(I came to read your best-ever writ. Now I'll go look for it! )

This reminds me of some kind of a black comedy after the lines of 'The Threepenny Opera' by Bertolt Brecht, or something by Damon Runyon. I'm being complementary here.
