Could A Poem Be A Sermon?

Updated on December 17, 2011

Could A Poem Be a Sermon?

Could there really be a sermon in a poem?

Can the words reach down to someone's heart

In bringing someone back to the Lord Jesus,

Can a poet in some small way really be a part?

If the rhyming words are sent down from Jesus ,

Can't the poem be used sometime. someplace?

Somewhere in service of The Heavenly Father

Can they really find just a wee small space?

Some people think a poet is just a dreamer

With nothing any better in life for one to do.

Is it really wasted time to write then for Jesus

Penning the words that He has given to you?

Although you may never know here on earth

If any words have touched some needy heart.

If you have written what God has given to you ,

Then you can feel that you have done your part!

******************************************************

I know there are people to this day think

it is a waste of time , time that could be

better spent doing some work of a

different kind , I don't really think that

you write just to have something to do

God has given it to you and it is up to

you to write . what you feel you are

supposed to be writing,He leaves the

choice up to you It is strange that at

times you will write something that

does not seem to make much sense

to you but when someone else reads

it it really touches their heart , it just

goes to show that God always knows

best How can you question what God

gives to you then., if you are supposed

to use what talent God has given to you

the choice will be up to you, just think

about it , The Lord gives and The Lord

can take it away, Blessed be the name

of The Lord.

YES! YES! YES! Definitely, a Poem can be a sermon and that one you and God wrote many years ago still lives in my heart. It seems like you wrote that Poem just for me,

"Sometimes He Answers No," and I believe he sees the future and knows all that is before us and what we need and for that reason sometimes He answers, "No". That Poem still touches my heart. Love you, Tessie

Yes, when the message is sent to you by GOD and HE touches your pen when you write a Poem there definitely can be and is a SERMON in the Poetry!

Keep up the great work. Love, Tessie
