Time to Change Our Life-Script: a Poem

Updated on July 30, 2017

Val is a life-long student of the psycho-philosophy of living and a devoted practitioner of many techniques that enhance personal evolution.

There is this world of our own make

and we so often fancy that it's others' too

never considering that it could be fake

as it always felt so incredibly true.

In this theatre of our mind

we make believe from what we see

and it seems like the only kind

of right living that could ever be.

We may play all our roles so well

or spend a lifetime merely rehearsing

while at times it's really hard to tell

if life calls for laughing or for cursing.

But what if our life-script is all wrong

and it's all that we should change

this set of beliefs appearing so strong

but so easy to junk or just rearrange.

Then whole life would be a brand new game

fresh like popped out of thin air

with nothing to stay exactly the same

even with new players in our new life affair.

Michael, old buddy---What a beautiful way of saying all that! But, please, don't get too eager yet to explore your Creator's realm, for, as you say, life is beautiful. Even if "reality is cruel", we can always choose to walk on the sunny side of the road, because there is always one available---the only problem being that it is not as noticeable as the shady one.

Ryan, my friend---I wish you a fulfillment of your expectations and wishes attached to your upcoming big change in life. I am sure you can handle every aspect of it, and one day in a retrospect you will gain another reason to be proud of yourself.

Thanks for inspiration Val. Reality is cruel but life is beautiful. Plans and hopes are set to expect their fulfillment, while twists and surprises are accepted boldly. Faith and love satisfy us with an incomprehensible desire to live, live forever. I do not know better way, but I know the best one.

Dwelling here not where I was born, a stranger in a foreign country now assuming as mine, looking yet forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God... Happy or content I am remaining speechless.

I can relate to this poem as I am about to make a big change in my life. I will be moving to a new state and a new city. I am excited and nervous. But I always feel life is too short not to take chances. If you fail, learn from it. And if you make it count your blessings and always be thankful.
