Could I Have Loved You More (poem)

Updated on June 15, 2015

Could I have loved you more

It’s not for me to say

The dreams worth living for

Are tears of yesterday

-

Our kisses flowed like rain

To sweeten bitter shore

And with each new refrain

Could I have loved you more

-

It only took my heart to see

We drifted in a fantasy

Where often things lose clarity

Except that you are still by me

-

Could I have loved you more

When sighs were swept away

As we let passions soar

And it ignited day

-

Where kisses followed rain

Searched for ways to shore

With you amid the pain

Could I have loved you more

-

It only took my heart to see

The agony of feelings’ plea

Without a word to set them free

Foretelling their calamity

-

Yet as we mask this troubled sea

Which shadowed our reality

It restores my clarity

Just knowing you are still by me

-

Could I have loved you more

Is there another day

With wishes to explore

What a dream may say

-

While kisses have their reign

Along our sweetest shore

Another may explain

Could I have loved you more

-

Just knowing you are with me

Could I have loved you more

Mh, I am loving catching up on reading your love poems here of late for they all place a smile on my face, and that is a lovely thing after a long day.

To love another so much 'til it hurts so good is amazing, but then to ponder loving even more is divine.

Another beautiful and romantic video and image.

Up ++++ tweeting, pinning, G+ and sharing once again

God bless and keep spreading the inspiration for all to love more ...maybe it is summer and that is what is in the air, summer love all around : )

Blossom made a great point about loving, but when one is loved back then that is complete love!

Good question. It begs for reminiscing and reliving the love they shared.

To love and be loved is what life is all about; it's so important. Lovely poem.

Such loving words, Martin. Love like what you speak of here is rare.

It is a nice space to be in to know that we have loved. So it is pleasant to me to consider if I could have loved more. Thank you for this beautiful piece.
