Steve is a Army Veteran who served from 1986-1992. He is Married with three children. He currently works in the battery industry.

This I wrote inside a sympathy card for my wife. She works in animal rescue and had just made the heart wrenching decision to put down a litter of kittens with an incurable disease.

No one should have to endure the taking of innocent life.

No one should have to live with such inner strife.

Would their lives have been long and happy? Or horrible and short?

None can say, so the conscience holds its terrible court.

My love, let me be your advocate

Let address the jury in your mind.

I will paint the picture I know.

Of a woman strong, compassionate, and kind.

The verdict will be innocent. The record will be set straight.

Because of you, so many others have been blessed with a much better fate.
