Creatures that Hide in Kindness Lies

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

Alone on a distant shore,

no kindness quell, this heart restore,

just broken thoughts, disdain,

from expectations, and her will to reign,

until I dared to cross,

that controlling lizard, that chill embossed,

did turn with violent fury,

and I the butt of hateful misery,

was isolated, cut off,

in penance for my knowing, scoffed,

that I was all alone,

and the devil seed was in her, sewn,

alive and breaching surface,

so cold and hard, and betrayed to harm,

now vengeance was her plight,

dismissed, rejected and far from sight,

I tried to placate her whims,

tried to silence my treatment, my aching limbs,

but I was no longer there,

a remnant of her cross to bare,

so I kept up with the charade,

to get back home, and in one piece saved,

from a lifetime of pain,

the misery of a psychopathic brain,

and in silence I left that plane,

no glance, no thought, just a sweet refrain,

that I survived and made it home,

bruised, bleeding and trauma shown,

at least I had escaped,

from a creature disguised in kindness lies,

and now I give thanks each day,

that I was shown this lizard throne,

this heartless brooding beast,

that I had chosen, expectations not reached,

this love I hoped was real,

was just a shell, the devil's seal,

and now I thank the trip,

for revealing all, the truth now gripped,

and now I just lament,

the time I almost to hell was sent,

and the memory fades each day,

and soon the pain will go away,

but some advice I'd like to leave,

relationships can be ill-conceived,

if you want to know who someone is,

just travel, and you'll know with smiles or tears.

The world is filled with broken people, and worse, they're not always easy to spot. Life is in deed a journey of learning.

Additionally Kym, welcome to HubPages. We are a community of both amateur and professional writers who share our love of writing, our thoughts and expertise. Your opinion will always be respected, but if your intention is to make personal attacks as you just did on my hub, that behavior has no place on HubPages. So, by all means make constructive criticism, make it about the work; you will make no friends bringing it down to the sandpit.

Interesting judgement Kym, and not understanding any of the circumstance, you can have such a vile and belittling response to my words. I would suggest that you have issues unresolved. At least my words are from real life and I have learned from them. Yours seem to be a knee-jerk response. Thank you for your opinion, but perhaps you have the reptilian within you.

Such a poison pen, so much hate. You despise yourself not her/him. A tiny flacid penis is my guess! Its not a reflective poem about your behaviour or a difficult position you BOTH found yourself in - what did you do to cause such a reaction? Grow Up - it takes two!!
