Creepy 'Ol House

Updated on June 9, 2015

There is this creepy old house and I live there.
If you are thinking about coming in – please beware!
The front and back yards look rather bare.
Just looking at the trees can give you a scare.
The door has always been broken;
The windows are still cracked.
My house may not look pretty and,
There are many other things it obviously lacks.

My roof over the kitchen is beginning to cave in,
Half of the lights do not work,
There is a ghost who turns them off as a joke.
During the evenings while standing on the porch,
A faint whistle can be herd and of course –
Nothing can be seen anywhere near me.

The unique beauty is not just confined to the outside.
Many weird shenanigans begin –
Even scaring the crap out of the mouse who lives inside.
Noises and Voices from every room –
Forget about trying to hide.
In the back, front, and to the side –
There are Noises and Voices –
I hear all day and all night.
Every time it happens they give me such a fright.
If you choose to come in – please beware!

These Noises and Voices will be sure to give you a scare.
So if you truly must come in – come in but,
Oh my dear please take heed of my advice.
I abide to no ownership,
Too many things happen during the day and,
Scary shenanigans happen at night.

I would like to stress –
Ye who are so interested in what is happening,
Wanting to witness these shenanigans.
I just ask you to be aware,
If you really stop and think – how safe are you out there?
Out there with the presumption of safety,
Compels me to wonder about your common sense.
Noises and Voices can also come from many other places.
It’s not just confined to an ‘Ol Creepy House with a broken fence.

Cool! Thank you so much April for sharing your story with me. My friend Rudy who live down the street from me, really did live in a scary house. Something would call out the family member's names all throughout the day. It didn't happen every day, but it was enough to creep everybody out.

voting funny...I grew up next to one of these abandoned creepy houses that people would come and tour.

The voices and noises that gave everyone such a and my brother and sister sneaking in the back window and up the stairs, whispering in the corners and closets that we knew conducted our voices to other places!

We had so much fun, and when my mom found out years later it was us, she laughed so hard and said it was good we were too old for a spanking.
