Big Bad Wolf

Updated on March 28, 2011

------- Trust Me Not -------

Soft words of deception
I possess a subtle nature
Speaking sweet, venomous truths
With whispers of bitter lies
Misdirection is a gift I was granted
Leading you into caverns of trust
Abandoning you to the wolves
The blood pulsing beneath your flesh
A beacon in the darkness
Call out for me, echoing my name
These walls are a prison

Can you see me smiling?
Baring my crimson fangs.
Can you feel me behind you?
Breathing down your neck.

Gently, I devour you.
Consuming your innocenceĀ
Regrettably, I admitā€¦
Things are not as they seemed.

Lesson learned- know whom to trust. I have to scroll down to keep the hypnotizing stare of the big black wolf away from me. ;)

      A good dark poem!

Perfect harmony in terror, many peoples fear the night, the woods and the animals in them. I love wolves and they are a mystery, they don't seek harm, yet will gladly offer up their fangs when the occasion arrives.

Tread carefully on mother nature, she is full of surprises, your poem evokes terror with the blood running freely in your writes. Keep writing, well done.
