A Romance Novel: Crimson Skies - Scene One

Updated on March 12, 2013

Romantic Adventure

"What are you doing way back here in the dim light of the landscaping?" Trent Q. Williams asked in that deep sexy voice of his. He is a self pronounced local spy who's had an eye for Summer Chalet ever since he saw her doing a report from Paris on the Channel 12 News. She's an extremely articulate and beautiful tourism reporter at a Southeastern MI news affiliate. They've dated for a couple of years, but it's going to be just that with both demanding schedules.

"I'm waiting for a boat I chartered to take me to Illinois. I'm doing a story in Chicago over the weekend..." Summer said wishing she could stay right there under the trees, the moonlit sky.In his aura. He turned her around reaching his arms out to hold her. She pressed up against him. He kissed her as always. Never knowing if he'll see her again.

"Don't go," he muttered.

"I have to."

"I'm coming with you then. I haven't seen you in over six months," Trent said even louder. He pulled her to him. She couldn't stand letting him go after so long, and now she didn't have to.

Soon lights appeared on the water at Saugatuck on Lake Michigan.. "That's my boat. Ready?"

"I've got no luggage, but that's nothing new. I'll just pick something up on the way to the hotel," he said assuring her that he would not in fact be wearing the same black suit, however stylish it may be.."Where are all of the guys? The crew?"

"They're taking the equipment on the helicopter. I wanted to spend some quiet time getting to Chicago. I just got back from Hawaii and I'm a bit jet lagged."

"Why are you doing all of these stories in the states instead of on the other side of the pond or somewhere?"

"People are staying close to home even though the economy has turned to some extent. I've got an upcoming trip to Brazil, would you like to come? Rio...?

Trent made his way down the dock to the boat. "Boat?" he gasped. "I thought we would be traveling via African Queen or something, This thing is huge."

"I've got those for you Mam" the Captain said as he gathered Summer's luggage and brought it on board.

The sun-kissed twenty-six-year-old with the long flowing blonde hair quietly thanked the man and followed him to her quarters. She didn't know what happened to Trent Q. Then a few moments later she heard him being ushered into the suite next to hers.

"Jesus take the wheel. Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," her phone rang out with Carrie Underwood belting it out so loud she was sure anyone around could hear that. Who could that be she thought. My sister's usually in bed by now, and my editor... The only two people who know where she is right now is the Captain and Trent.

"Hi, you haven't gone to bed yet have you?" he questioned hopefully." I wonder if you'd like to stay up with me for a little while before you go to sleep?

Before she could say a thing he was at her door ready to go. He scooped her up like a ballet dancer and kissed her until her body felt limp. She came to life from the sense of thrill she was feeling. Cupping his face as if to say goodbye, she kissed him passionately. He eased her down onto the sofa, kissing her softly. By then she knew what had to happen.

He got so close to her she felt him get excited. He felt it too. The next thing she knew she was smiling a smile that couldn't be compared. The release. The power. The excitement.

      Mr.Love Doctor,

I'm glad I made you laugh, albeit for the wrong reason. On my part I should have realized that the ice for the champagne would have melted, and the caviar would have spoiled by the time the two characters got back to the ship that night. Not to mention that the menu and its' items is cliche. It's hard though with this type of writing. It all seems cliche to a certain extent.

On another note, Don didn't have the idea for the gifts, the Captain did. His only idea was to get into Summer's room any way he could.

      shalini sharan,

Thank you. I know this type of writing is not what you usually see on HP but I thought I'd give it a shot.
