Cry For Me

Updated on December 15, 2012
Source

I am just a little one

So dependable on you

Holding my little hand

Waiting on holy ground!

Looking at the world

So cold and hard

Teaching us to hate

And to be scared on this dark day!

What have I done?

I am but a little one

Crying real tears

Never asking to be born!

Going to school every day

Is a very big task’

Trying to teach me

Of times past!

Hold my hand, will you mister?

As I cry these real tears

Asking one question

What have I ever done to you?

To make you kill me this hurtful day!

I am but a little one

Trying to go to school!

Trusting in grownups

To keep me safe and true!

I used to have a song in my heart

Now there is dead silence

Wondering where my momma is

This dreary day!

You see the Angels are crying

On this sad morn

There are so many of us

Laying on the ground!

What did I ever do to you?

This isn't very fair

I am but a little one

With real tears I shed!

Will you cry for me?

As you put me in the ground?

This is dedicated to all those children and teachers murdered on 12-14 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

They are with Our Lord. God Bless and Keep them and their families.

Debbie, this is haunting. Yes, they were innocent and we cannot even imagine what was in their minds at the time they were executed, how horrific. However, you captured some thoughts---that they could not conceive of such a thing as all they knew was innate trust of the grownups around them.

What did Jesus say, Deborah? Do not worry my children come on to me ...... It is unthinkable that the best time in your life could also be your worst.

On a happier note it is always nice to be in your presence and I would rather sit on your lap than on Santa's - and whisper in your ear what I really want for Christmas this year - Gee I hope you don't blush easily - lol - sending you my most sincere Christmas wishes and health and happiness for you and your dear family throughout the new year as well - lake erie time canada 1:13pm no snow yet just rain and high winds

Hmmm it saddens my heart everyday i read and hear about these horrible crimes around the world. It makes me say GOD how long? how long? I believe it won't be long till He comes as a thief in the night.

This world is at its ends with wickedness the stench is burning God's nostrils we are hanging on by GRACE and need to make ourselves ready to meet Him when he comes to judge this sinful world.

I don't care what nobody says but the Rotten Music has ALOT to do with these children behaviours they are demon possess especially when they listen to HARD ROCK, Sex and violence music they become evil and do cruel things to themselves, slice their hands, cut up their bodies, chop hair crazily and then they look like zombies from HELL.

May God comfort those parents that lost their precious little ones in that tragic incident .

This poem is a painful reminder of the sheer senselessness of the act. A very heart wrenching read Debbie. You have beautifully captured the pain and innocence of a child who has so much trust in an adult.

I think that only through our writer's voice are we able to capture even a small part of this vile and evil deed.

You have captured it here Debbie as only you can.

This is heartbreaking. There are no words to describe it. Parents drop off their children at school everyday trusting that they will be fine and in good care. There is a lot of evil in this world. All these problems are coming from degradation of moral values in today's generation. A very sweet tribute to these innocent children.

Deb...either your writing has taken yet ANOTHER step up that proverbial ladder - or your passion over what has transpired is guiding your pen! This is both heartbreaking and incredible - and those poor souls deserve nothing less than our best - which you have given them here! My heart is breaking for them and i so want something to change in their honor!

Deborah such a loving and touching tribute; and God knows that those children were innocent souls, and we know from Jesus' teachings and admonishing of his disciples how He felt about children,

and that yes they are already in the Heavens

Thank you , to our own dear sweet angel

      Bless you Deborah Brooks!!!

      Hi Deborah.

I cannot write the words or speak the sentences that should be said over this tragedy. Once again a place of learning has been hit by a dark cloud of mourning.

I ask the Lord "How often must this happen"

A beautiful poem written for those that where taken from us to early.

With your permission I'd like to share your words with my friends on Twitter and Pinterest.

What a beautiful poem, I swear , I could hear a little kid reading it to me. What a sad Christmas. The joy and laughter has been taken away from America. I don't understand. Why?

      Hello Debbie,

I know all our hearts are in mourning and while we feel so helpless writing something seems one way of reaching out letting them know we care. A senseless act that has once more broken a nations heart...

      Love,

      Sunnie
