Dance of the Sun ( a poem of inspiration)

Updated on April 18, 2015
At sun's early light...
At sun's early light...
at sundown...our sun so shines to make way the evening...
at sundown...our sun so shines to make way the evening...
a night time reflection of our sun...brother moon...
a night time reflection of our sun...brother moon...
The warming sunlight bathes the world...
The warming sunlight bathes the world...
light of the world we live in...
light of the world we live in...
Gift from our god to flora and fauna...our sun...
Gift from our god to flora and fauna...our sun...

Sun up to sun down, the obligation of the sun to proceed,

The rays of life to share with all, and fulfilling every need.

Giving fondest breath to both creatures and to all plants,

Nourishing, to encourage the hearts, by its gracious dance,

Spreading the beams of hope all around this wide world,

Its reliable returning, forever burning, its light, so heralded.

Apollo, as of the Greek, the sun light, every corner to seek,

Brightens the lives of both the bold, and that of the meek.

At every grandest dawning and setting, the magnificent one,

The overseer, guardian soldier, and so watches all, our sun.

When in darkest nights, or storms, each new dawning to come,

Anticipated in its return, and so reliable to be, is our own sun.

The source of our lives, nourishment, given by the hand of God,

The sun, a gift of sustained life, as we grow from the earthen sod.

Mighty defender in day and night, as brother moon, shares its light,

The greatest protector, a divine blessing, makes our lives as bright.

The sun, the heavenly chosen one, as planets encircle in their flight,

Draws us near and warms us well, and with all of its powerful might.

The enabler, our bright orb, a celestial giant, a most beautiful star,

Keeps us close, our sanctuary, parenting us all, from its home, afar.

I love the last line, whonu. Beautiful thoughts and appreciation of the life that is empowered by the sun (and Son).

What a reliable order for the sun; must have been created by an Omniscient, Omnipotent God!

Your poetry is very 'gentle' and loving.

Light, that quality that is needed most and often rejected. At least we appreciate the Sun. Higher blessings.

Very inspiring. I loved the way of looking at something we take for granted every day as a gift from God

You said it all right here. The sun means so much to our livelihood. Nice work.
