Dark Poetry--Fact Or Fiction--Vampires

Updated on August 30, 2012

About

This was a Poetry Challenge in which each line begins with the letters to spell Fact Or Fiction and the theme was vampires as in the vampires in horror films.

The Poem had to be 85 words and I had 1 hour to do this.

I was not aware that I was not allowed a revision so it took 40 minutes so this is both the draft and final copy.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this Poem Fact Or Fiction--Vampires.

Fact Or Fiction--Vampires

Source
Source

Ferociously casted from the heavens above,

Ancient deities slithering, guided without love.

Centuries roaming eternally amongst the cattle,

Too many fallen, destroyed by the endless battle.

Ominously lead for the need of flesh,

Ravaging lustfully in a full bloody mesh.

Source

Fallen creatures of the night,

Isolated in shadows, frenzied for a bite.

Cursed by the wickedness instilled,

Thirsting for the power of their guild.

Icy chills throughout the pale corpses spent,

Obsessive cries pour of redemption not meant,

Nosferatu, vampires, wretched demons unwilling to repent!

      Dear Patty ,

Creativity is a spontaneous act of pouring out your inner side. But to do it under controlled effort and within the specific boundary is what is the toughest of jobs. For me it would have been most probably falling flat on face to the ground. You are brilliant in expression of FACTS AND FICTION both here. hats off to you, up votes and away:-)

      luv

alancaster, I actually enjoyed the movie Salem's Lot and would have made this much darker, but the time limit put a huge damper on things. Usually during the revision, I do corrections and change things as necessary include verb usage, but I finished this in 40 minutes and was not allowed to do a revision. This is both the draft and final copy.

Thank-you sooo very much for taking the time to read this and comment; I do appreciate it!!!

I think you could've made a bit more of this interesting piece. Did you ever see 'Salem's Lot' with David Soul and James Mason? It was based on the 'Nosferatu' legend, with James Mason showing just how creepy he could be (great range that actor, and so under-rated by many filmgoers)! Eke out the description on each of the letters and see how you go. By the way it's 'cast out', not 'casted out'. (Makes all the difference).

I would crack under the pressure to do this then the vampires could devour my wretched corpse. This is very well done particularly under the conditions in which you did it. Don't care for vampires much though. lol.
