Days That Are Not Sunny

Updated on December 16, 2015

Sunny days and good feelings

are grand for smiles

but my Lord there are days

when it seems I can’t go on

then I have to ask

for your guidance

when the burdens

seem much to hard to bear

and yet, my Lord

I have to remind myself

that my blessings are so many

surely I can go on

when I think of those

who need your help much more than I

I have to admit

Lord that my wants are small

however there are times

when I want to cry

like a little child

upon your shoulder Lord

then I have to remember

all the goodness you have given me

all the love and glad tidings

you have provided

so even though I sometimes

may turn to you when I feel down

I know that I have so much

while others have so little

so Lord even though the tears may fall

be there for those in need and who are ill

place your hand upon the children who are sad

and be there for all creatures big and small

forgive me Lord

for crying when I should be laughing

just being dramatic

now when I have you smiling it feels so good

you understand and we can smile together

this woman understands that sometimes tears must fall

then afterwards we must stand tall

and say thank you my Lord

so I give you my hand

help me shake off the gloom

and let’s get through this day

together you and I

you are my saving grace

my shining star

I am your earthly child

and I love you my Lord

A different kind of poem but yes, it's Christ's time, isn't it? Yes, we need the Lord, even through we can be sometimes too busy. A bit like those who want the money but do not work. Not the same, but will do, perhaps. Nice change, right time. Much Peace.

Great poem. Wow, what a much better walk through life we have when we walk with the Lord.

I know the feeling. I also have the experience of resting securely in the fact that I am His child. A really soothing message.

Good to read your inspiring words in your poem, I certainly need the Lord's strength when life is not so easy.

I love this, Rasma! It is such a lofty prayer, and yes, quite meditative. Praise be!
