Dear God Do You Remember Me?

Updated on April 9, 2012

You know that I am small, and have problems that you see.

Sometimes I cannot walk, sometimes I cannot see.

But at least you let me have the memories, of days that were so happy.

Now those days are gone, have I done something wrong?

You used to let me ride, a horse so gentle and eyes a lovely blue.

Those days let me be happy, even though my body is still small.

Then the stables had to close, because "State funding was just gone"

That is what you have told me, or was it something I did wrong?

Could a rich one help with funding? At least that's what I prayed.

No, they did not do that so here is where I have stayed.

I miss riding the horses, so happy and so free.

Dear God please remember even if it only is just me.

You are right. A lot of parents are busy, but they need to make time for their children. They really do.

Wow! As adults we often wonder, is his hands still upon us. We remember small things from our childhood, that have us say life was good back in that day. This is our thought, but I know my parents were probably saying the same things. Carefree in the world as children, as adults those memories we hold on to.

No, it is based on my daughter's. We went to a stable called New Beginnings Stables. She started riding at the age of 5. She loved it. The horses were so gentle. When the state cut funding, people could no longer afford to take their children there. Of course the stables closed. But, I stayed close the the owners an am like family to them. We have decide to try to open it again. I have written to a lot of famous people trying to get some funding but can't. Anyway, we are still going to try to open up again, maybe just board horses and give lesson. We are going to do a lot of improvements ourselves. Life is life. But I pray that if we can even help one child it would be a dream come true. It helped my daughter so much, that she can even help us by riding horses that we by to get them used to being ridden by children.

Michele, such a beautiful and sad poem. Is this based on your childhood?

Thank you unknown spy. You are right. It may not be what I want, but it will be God's will. God Bless us all. What is interesting, it is only 8:30 and this is the second time this morning someone has said "God Bless us all" There is a message from God today. You are one of those who is carrying a message from God. Wow, that is amazing!

poshcofeeco thank you for your comment. I have written a few and asked for help, but the economy is not in a good place right now. Life it what it is.

If I did ever have money then I would help so many people. That is a dream of mine. Not to be rich, but to help people. That, I would even swear on a bible, is true.

A lovely poem, but all the same a little sad. It would seem the stable needed a beneficiary to keep it going. It is a shame that nobody has come forward. Keep up the spirits and your brilliant writing and one day I know you will be a beneficiary and help so many people because of your wisdom and generosity.

Michele, a sad reflection written from a little girls heart. May God comfort her and assure her that He does all thing well and He can be trusted. Beautifully written. I loved your profile as I too am a Christian and as one who has gone through many hard knocks in life, God has taught me to walk by faith and not by sight. He has been my rock.

Nice to meet you. I look forward to knowing you better through hubpages. Voted up and beautiful.

God Bless you and your sweet girl!

What a sad commentary of the way our world treats children...and the eyes of that hurting innocent child went to the place of healing...but 'the world' needs to do things differently too! Beautiful poem!

Thank you Faith Reaper for your comment. I appreciate it very much. What you wrote is wonderful and understandable. Yes, there are ministries for children with disabilities, just not around here. But, for now I will keep praying. God does love all of us. We will be ok, I believe that.

Hi Michele - what a beautiful poem. There are ministries for disabled children and they involve riding horses. We have one here where I live, and there are many others - Therapeutic Horses. I love your profile. I, too, believe God loves every single person He created and that is why He sent His son to die for the whole world to be saved, and He does not just love us Christians. I don't love politics, but I do work in that field, and that is probably why I do not like it, as it is an arduous task keeping politicians ethical. Ha. That may be an oxymoran statement. Beautiful writing. Faith Reaper

Thank you teaches. People like you do not forget. I know that is true, because you love children, and teach them. I have read your hubs. You are one of the people who love children, and that is wonderful.

A sweet poem that reminds us of who lost we sometimes feel in this big world. God is always there for us, even when we don't feel or see Him. I think solitude is sometimes helpful in working out our problems, and it is good to ask Him, it's a prayer, not to forget us.

Michele, my girlfriend recommended a book to me titled "The Circle Maker." Look it up on

and check it out. It sounds perfect for your wish...I'm reading it now and I love it. That being said, I felt the sadness, disappointment, heart and desire throughout the poem. The picture of the little child is a precious accompaniment! Voted up, useful and beautiful! Don't give up on your dream! Blessings, Sparklea :)

Thank you Lee, she is on Spring Break right now. We do have friends that have horses, so we just got back from a short ride. It was fun. But, what I wish could happen would be a place for all children to ride. Children with Autism, children who use wheelchairs, children who are blind. A place like that. Well, I won't write another hub like that ( Making a business. ) But, she did have a fun for a little while today :)

This is so good Michele. Beautiful poem and of course the related article you wrote months back. I am sad your daughter no longer has access to the stable and I continue to pray God will provide a miracle there. Surely some entrepreneur must need a tax write off to invest in a stable there. My prayers are with you. God's blessing on you. I voted UP all across. Lee
