Dear Mom (A Poem)

Updated on April 7, 2013
Source

Dear Mom,

The dark is here, the wind is cold

the light has left your eyes

Im less of me not feeling bold

Without you here by my side

Your giving up and Im scared

I don't know whats going to happen next

Will you still be here for when life

gives me my biggest test ?

You havent ate you havent drank

in at least several days

I guess its only a matter of time

now before we part our ways

Im terrified of how I will be

when the moment comes

When your no longer by my side and

what was said can no longer be done

Im suppose to look up on the

chances that you will live

But how can I be so positive when

you have given up the will to live

You no longer listen nor care

I can see it in your eyes

I can hear it in your voice

when your eyes do cry

Day after day you sleep and sleep

and I wonder if

One day you will sleep a peaceful

sleep and never come back from it

Love, your daughter

I love you mom.

Hi torrilynn. Thinking of you and wondering how you are going. I see you hit the magical 10K milestone. I am so pleased that many people are viewing your hubs.

Are you coping okay with your daily challenges? Please don't forget you have lots of friends here at hp if you need to write and let off steam. Take care.

My heart goes out to you. My daughter's best friend lost her mom in high school and it was so very difficult. It continues to be hard, though life has brought a new love into her father's life. I would love to hug you, but must surround you in love and light instead, torrilynn.

I opened your lovely, touching poem just before I was leaving for work. It did brought me to tears. Smile, torrilynn! A mother's love will never abandon her daughter, and her presence will always be embracing you. :)

Very touching poem, Torrilynn! This is a fact of life that each one of us must face at some point of time. And face it bravely in the belief that our loved ones do look out for us from there.

      Voted up, beautiful and shared.

Oh, that's great. Many people don't get that chance, torrilynn. You can go through life knowing that you shared that special moment.

Your adult years are just beginning. It is appropriate to be grateful to your mother for whatever she gave you in the past, but it is now your responsibility to take care of yourself as you create your future.

Be strong, remember everything she taught you, and make her proud. Try to greet every day with strength and confidence. Soon you'll find yourself smiling again.

I wish you every success in the future. :)

      Torrilyn,

I am so sorry that you have lost your mother. Your words touched my soul deeply...I could relate to the deep feeling of loss that you felt/feel and the heart strings pulling as you knew her life force was fading away and that she was too tired to stay...she is at peace now and is still here with you...your memory of her an the love you shared with her will always survive.

      Hi torrilynn

A beautiful poem. Now made even more beautiful after the loss.

Longtimemother highlighted this hub to me, so do not know me from a hill of beans but, my thoughts are still with you.

Your poem reveals a kind heart and I am sure, with the passing of time all will come good again.

Comes a time, honey. Hold her hand, tell her you love her, and that you understand if she has to go. You have no control over what happens next.

I'm sure she'd stay with you longer if she could, but maybe it's time. In the same situation, I like to think my kids will understand and let me do what I have to do next.

      Thinking of you.

Voted up and awesome. Always be positive. The Lord will know when the time is right. I miss my mom terribly but you know cherish the moments however hard while she is still here and you know, when moms leave us they stay close by and guide us the rest of the way. Mom never, ever really leave us. Hugs. Passing this on.
