Death! Is Only The Beginning

Updated on June 19, 2013

Suppress me in oblivion

In your tyranny unjust

I shall rise above my grave

And meet justice in reunion

For the righteousness in me shining

Death! Is only the beginning

Kill me! Protect your fall

But come it shall may

In your worst nightmares

Your blood shall answer all

For the words of truth with me you’re killing

Death! Is only the beginning

Stab my heart with stakes at your behest

Think you killed the love in me

My soul so strong you shall not kill

And there lay my love and there it shall rest

For my soul my love and their eternal upbringing

Death! My friend is only the beginning

Took away my brothers

To suffice your questioned ways

But camaraderie did you take

Or it fooled you in its shelters

For the echoes of brotherhood, loud and deafening

Death... Is only the Beginning

Rahul, this is such a coincident, I've recently lost a friend and colleague and wanted to write something as a tribute to him, this is along the same lines I've been heading, ' death is just the beginning of the ultimate journey' your writing and style is amazing as always.

      A powerful piece of work...

In fact death is our break from the vicious cycle of suffering and momentary joy that we are put into. Indeed, death is only the beginning...

      Great write.

Excellent poem. I have no idea whether death really is the end or the beginning of something else that I shall have to wait to find out. I certainly do not fear death it's the one thing we cannot avoid.

A subject that had me exploring many religions and philosophies as a very young child, and I've never forsaken the journey...I do think we are eternal, and sometimes a totally random element floats into a day we are most in need, that reinforces that belief. Like a promise, gifted us from that 'other' word that awaits us. This was awesome, beautiful, interesting, and obviously will be voted up Rahul!
