An Open Door

The wind which blows

The ice-cold snow

Is driving deep into my soul.

I feel so far away from home

And yet, I am still here,

Alone.

A certain time where I belong

is slowly ticking near;

But when that is,

I am not certain.

There is a place where I belong

I’ve seen it in my dreams;

The crystal water and golden haze

Are impressed upon my mind, it seems.

And when I find it, I will know

A sense of peace will fill my soul

The days of pain will haunt no more

That certain place

Within my reach

Will be

An open door.
