Decisions (Poem)

Updated on October 12, 2015

It's not planned, not expected,

"I don't want to make one," they said,

To make the right one is what everyone wanted,

Fantasies, ego and pride,

Good reasons and thinking, they set aside,

Add wrong intentions and the road is open wide

No one can turn back, none can hide,

Its rotten fruits with remorse are running wild,

So what do you do? Cry?

Find comfort in asking why?

Why did it happen none can know,

Or at least none can accept,

Bitter pain it is, haunting like a debt,

Will it leave nothing behind?

Nothing but a mark; white or dark?

A barricade with a huge sign?

You'll be surprised what happens when it's time,

For as long as wisdom is your friend,

Right will not lead you to a dead end,

So go on, get up and move forward,

Decisions never liked cowards.

After all the questions, your concluding lines read like counsel from a wise philosopher. Beautiful!

Yes, indeed. Your last stanza beautifully sums up. Hats off!

Wise advise , sujinmikee. Guessing as well as confusion might come as natural consequence searching for the peace which passes all understanding... found in Jesus.
