Deep Mother

Updated on July 6, 2012

The passionate fashions
Killed all of the magic
Like the fog leaves you blind
Without the liars and lovers
The land of milk and honey
Has become a land of money
And the hand it smothers
As deep as you love her
One hand shakes another
Kindred servants of all
The powers that be
And they will always be
One hand feeds
All the others
Deep mother

Leading the temptations
Holding out both hands
The angels dying on crosses
With all the hate you can muster
The cities of gold turn into
Meltdowns of lead
One head is banging
The other ones
Deep mother

The turquoise sky looks
Like a hurricanes eye
The road growing less traveled
With each smile it discovers
After charming all the masses
And bow wowing all the cameras
Breathing deeper and deeper
Underground or under covers
Even under the waters
A velvet eyed fox inside
A cardboard box
A foxtrot destructor
Deep mother

She keeps me alive
Through the lightning storm
Into darkness again
She says to her sisters
Where are your brothers?
On the edge of her sword
She shall strike down the hordes
And she will strike deep
Evermore ever deeper
Deep mother

      My fave lines:

      "Kindred servants of all

      The powers that be

      And they will always be

      One hand feeds

      All the others

      Deep mother"
