Deprived myself that lust and tears

Solitude points sharp and clears

Only a memory can tempt that fears

And compensate that value years

That controlled that self that bone and heart

Less sacrifice when playing a part

A field of green to run along

To jump around and sing out song

To yell, to dance, to cry, to chance...

Less compromise when not it matters

Only to hope, when all seems shattered

By steady rhythm of time and strain

Awakened by passions or desires to gain

If more than a place to place my plate

And more than a space to lay my head

Such wonder and search shall be in vain

      Hello, c-m-hall,

This is an excellent piece of writing. Amazing, to be honest.

I loved every word. Voted up and all the choices because you deserve it.

This piece touches Abstract/Prose poetry that I too dabble with. Please read, "And Old Dreamer's Dream," in my hubs.

You have such a gift for writing. Just keep writing and good things are bound to happen to you.

I cordially invite you to read one or two of my hubs, and be one of my followers.

      That would make my day.

I am so honored to meet you.

I suppose we measure what was in vain, somewhere down the road. Today we live and tomorrow measure whether yesterday we were alive.
