"Detox" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Detox"

So we take the devil, and place him into the light

From down the dark road

Retracing our steps back to the center of hope

Before despair sets in

Enveloped in sin; a happy ignorance about the way things work

Dipping

Dabbling; I'll just have a taste

Give the devil his due; dare not let him go to waste

Let him not drag you down; to depths one cannot recover

Hey... I have this dance all under control

As the devil takes the lead

So we dance, so we see, so we go

Ahh, the dance, so we see, what is down below

Darkness, underneath it all, peel back to expose the frame

Let us have a good look at this mess, as we peel back to explore the brain

Dripping

Bits of dopamine

And... It is sensation

And it is sexual

Dripping

Dropping

Swiggin and poppin, n puffin up up up and away

These things we experience in the night, draw the shade to experience in the day

We can't take it in the light

Let's go on that trip again

Down the dark road

Hurry...Hurry

Before despair sets in

One more time

Ok

One more kiss

Ok

This is goodbye

Very deep, dark and full of temptation. Great writing as always Eric.

Another great poem Eric, the Devil always likes to take the lead in the dance doesn't he. Sometimes it seems all to easy just to follow, but we have to take care.

Neuropoetry? (LOL), only you could own it!

...a happy ignorance about the way things work..." I like that Eric.

Your lines here, for me seemed summed up in being satisfied with our brain-paths.

The silhouette pairs well with your work.

"Let him not drag you down; to depths one cannot recover"...

and once he drag us to those depths...it really becomes an impossible of the possibilities to recover.

      A unique composition!

      He he Bro.

The Tantric Path. We take this in more ways than one. We are mostly the victims of fate. It dances on our foreheads. Vivid poem.

Thanks Rozina, once we accept a deal, or trade pleasure for consequence (or the supposed lack there of), it can be extremely difficult to rise from the ashes, but it can happen. Glad to see your visit and commentary.

Thanks Manatita, I fully believe in fate and the many destined victims of it; unbeknownst to exactly what that fate is or which domino we knock over in ignorance, that then sets fate further in motion. Appreciate the visit as always.
