Dialing

Updated on May 8, 2012

This game of being human
This game without a score

It takes half a life to master
And half a life to retire from

As people waltz away from their own conformity
Each of us sees new realities
And sometimes we choose these new ones
And form clay
To begin all over....

My life is over half spent I am yet to master it. You put a lot in so few words. I like that.

Hi Blake4d, I love the part about the clay, because it gives us a chance to never stop living. There will always be something new to learn.Good poem with so little words.

I certainly walked away from a life of conformity...I only hope I can conform to another sort of life before the clay begins to dry in some really odd, unusable shape that gets all chipped and battered from trying to fit into the wrong molds, lol. Nothing sandpaper and a little paint can't fix, right?! This really is beautiful and encouraging poetry, Blake, thank you. ~ Laura
