Bursting With Creativity

I learned about the Diamante form from Derdriu on Hubpages. I gave it a twirl. This one mighty little method to create a poem has potential. Seven lines of verse and you've got it made! Whooo! I'm on a roll and there is a place to guide you through as you develop your poem. It won't create a table on Hubpages for you, but the 'fill in the blanks' makes sure you're hitting the correct number of words, in the correct order, with the right part of speech.

Pick A Topic

Today's poem revolves around the common theme of 'depression.' A lot has been written, by many authors on Hubpages and elsewhere. Not only are we in a financial depression economically, we tend to trend emotionally with the marketplace. The material world out there does make an 'impression' on our inner feelings. When this occurs, we must take action to reframe our world, and find the tiny little blessings and miracles all around us.

The word depression has many meanings for each person and many triggers that set people into the decline. People can push buttons, and like happiness, depression is contagious. However, please take note: "happiness" is NOT the opposite of depression. My little poem will explain in verse. As a reminder, the first and last word of the diamante are opposites.

Emotional Roller Coaster
atmospheric, deep
pressing, sinking, plunging
sigh, misery, incline, recovery
upturning, bouncing, lifting
hopeful, optimistic

Kero One © 2009 From the album EARLY BELIEVERS.

Wikipedia | Kero One, a Korean-American hip hop MC out of San Francisco, California has gained fame through a series of events. Kero One produced his first single and art, when a copy purchased by a Japanese DJ created buzz and a Japanese record company requested 3000 copies, thus, began the rise to fame.

The same can happen to any of the Hubpages satirists, artists, poets, authors, painters, graphic designers, musicians, lyricists or instrumentalists, etc. All it takes is one person to recognize your work to set the chain of events into motion.

In 2005, Kero One released an album, "Windmills of the Soul," which was named the "Best Hip Hop Album of 2006" by Remix Magazine. In 2005, he opened the office for his own label, named Plug Label. In 2009, he released his second album, "Early Believers."

So, I recommend that everyone here, "Keep on Pushin" and who knows what can happen down the line. Many hubbers write serious fiction, non-fiction, family stories and series. Just Keep Pushing!

hahahah. You really can't push this button!

About The Author

This Hubpages is the second in the poetic form called diamante form that does not necessarily rhyme, but instead is based upon particular forms of grammar and flows to describe opposites. Using nouns, adjectives, gerunds the poet constructs seven lines.

Hello Cardisa ~ Your writing is exceptional and not everyone is attracted to the same form and style. Like art appreciation, you don't have to play the music to enjoy listening. Love, Debby

Debbie, now I know what the idea was! I still can't quite allow myself to learn this Diamante style...maybe it's because I am feeling quite

I love it and you got the sequence so right. That is exactly what the outcome is when one gets help.

You have all the attributes of a diamond, already. As for Diamante poems, it is an interesting approach. I like your presentation of the concept here. And no, I didn't try to push the button. Greetings! W.E.
