Diaphanous, just another poem !
I need to close my eyes in order to see you,
For you're no longer around. I have long lost you !
Remember when I said I never really loved
Any other woman than you ? Well, that was true !
I felt we were meant to be with one another,
But life had a different ending in store for us.
We went our separate ways. How long has it been ?
Doesn't really matter. But life's never been the same.
Through my dreams your body is tantalizing me,
For I never forgot your feminine beauty.
Eyes wide open in the dark my hands search for you
And there's nothing there but empty loneliness,
We both wanted a good life and I thought we had it.
Oh, again to kiss you, again to fondle you,
Just like we did before in times of happiness
When my mouth and my hands contoured a map of you.
You were my North and South, my East and then my West.
But without you around, the compass has gone mad.
I have totally lost my sense of direction,
And the ocean washed out our footprints in the sand.
I know I'm just fooling myself. But if I could,
I would turn back the clocks, reverse the calendars,
Erase the wasted time that has stood between us,
Take you back in my arms, say "Honey, I've missed you".
I have loved you so long, I have missed you so much.
I just know no one else will ever replace you.
But my tortured soul will always long for you.
Oh Lord, give me the strength to deal with my demons.
Damn, I miss you...
