The unturned stones are whispering

catching their breath as my footsteps near

and though the wind doesn't care which way I am moving

I am moving because it knows that I'm here

Symbols from far away

catch me coming closer day by day

I'm a man on a mission, as the saying goes,

to fill the soles of my shoes with holes

Grass springs up where a trail once was

forgetting old footsteps and yearning for sun

like long ago lovers whose voices I've missed

returning to their routine once they know I've moved on

Signals from a life at sea

Shine threw my eyelids as I sleep

It's actually just sunlight between the trees

rushing me to get back on my feet

The unturned stones are whispering

I promise not to rest until I flip their hides.

And though it might cost more years than I've got

years are easier to measure with the turn of the tides.

Thank you for your comment Dee42, I'm touched that you found this awesome. It's a pretty good video and I didn't make it. The song was actually what I was looking for because I like that song very much and thought it would go well with the poem. Basing from your reaction, I guess the video that went with the song is an added bonus as well.

I went back and watched that video, how great was that!! And how brave those cheerleaders were. Did you make this?
