Thoughts…

The most potent tool

That could make you or break you

And yet the most unused one.

Thoughts…

Engulfing you with over-whelming expectations.

Poisoning you with victim-consciousness.

Bringing miseries with the ifs and buts.

Thoughts…

Misleading you to believe money is happiness.

Entrapping you in the confined boundaries of your past.

Making you vulnerable seeking someone to complete you.

Thoughts…

Worrying you about what others think.

Turning you defensive to prove you’re right.

Exhausting you with the torrents of negativity.

Thoughts…

You become what you think.

Ditch the poison, embrace the nectar.

Manifesting your intention with your attention.

Thank you Eric! We are all guilty of wallowing in self-pity and negative thoughts at times. It needs awareness and practice to break the habit.

Why should one drink poison when the same cup can hold nectar? It is just a matter of thought.

      Well done Shaloo!

Thank you, Rajan! I firmly believe in the power of our thoughts. We attract in our lives what we think and that's why we should choose our thoughts wisely.

I totally believe in the power to thoughts to poison or empower us. You certainly offer us the better option.

@Dora We manifest in our lives what we think. So why not focus on positive thoughts?

I prefer to be positive than to think of the bad and negative. Poison kills you.

Most creative poetry. This world does slowly but surely in certain ways poison our minds...

Well said! How difficult it is to master our own minds and change our inner voices to positive reinforcements rather than the negative victimized self critical dialogue we always hear!

Thank you Luna! Thoughts are difficult to master and that's why I recommend meditation to everyone.

Oh yes, those very thoughts you speak of used to bother me as a young woman, but amazingly, one day I woke up to my own thoughts, and I write them out just so I'll know that I am fine as an individual personality. You just can't worry about what others think about you, or it dulls your shine, and everyone should possess their own type of shine! ;) Great poem!

@Missy We are often prisoner of our thoughts. Mastering the thoughts is a life long practice.
