Do I Have To Let You Go

Updated on February 13, 2014

Yes I Have To Go To Work

As You drive off

I give one final wave

In a our silver car covered bumper to bumper

With dirt and grime

Desperately in need of a car wash

Covered in a combination of everything winter has left behind

I watch as you disappear out of sight

Blending into a collage of cars

Of every color and shape

We both go to our jobs and do what we are trained to do

My feelings grow

Being apart only so we can spend more time together

Kind of ironic don't you think

In the mist of a world of confusion and so many differences

We find a balance

With each other by loving one another

We are reminded how little control we actually have

As I take a glimpse of the few hours of sunlight that I have left

Realizing I will miss the rest of the day

When I go into work

Walking through those glass brown doors

Knowing what makes me the happiest

When I asked you to roll down your window

So I could steal one last kiss

Sweet real sweet. Always time for at least one more kiss.

annart Work is a blessing. It keeps us busy so we don't get lazy. Meeting new people you would other wise never see. It opens doors for new opportunities.Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Yes, we do have to spend so much time at work to be able to have our leisure time. Some manage a reasonable balance, others work far too hard, though of course some have to.

I'm lucky as my working days are now done (or at least the paid ones!) and I have time for me and mine. Ann
