Domino ( a poem of encouragement)

Updated on December 16, 2015
dominoes of life...
dominoes of life...
Dominoes begat others...
Dominoes begat others...
Each one promiotes encouragement to another in turn...
Each one promiotes encouragement to another in turn...
One domino bumps another, passing the goodwill onward...
One domino bumps another, passing the goodwill onward...
A continuing reassurance and sharing of a brotherly conscience in our lives...
A continuing reassurance and sharing of a brotherly conscience in our lives...
Such a simple thing is a fond hello...one small domino...
Such a simple thing is a fond hello...one small domino...

Just that one positive word, or in a single sentence of affirmation,

May change the day, encourage a life, support in its confirmation.

Better days absorbed in sunshine, leaving stormy weather behind,

Has an effect, the negative to reject, and a renewing of every mind.

Domino, so well we know, ever approaching in an incessant refrain,

Passing on the goodness so shone, as a rainbow, after the rain.

When we may bestow, goodwill we know, has such a vibrant effect,

The human equation, such a grand persuasion, a gift of all's respect.

One, two, three, in succession then to see, each domino does fall,

A reflection of every rightful act, no matter how great or how small.

Passing it onward, is received by the next, a brightening of the day,

Our precious endeavors, warm spirits to reveal, this in every way.

The white spots on this small dark block, all multiples of generosity,

As surely as the clock strikes twelve, a dozen more, as benevolently.

When each block tumbles a new one then, to release a spontaneity,

Every blessing counted in its intent, much a product of synchronicity.

Well written whonu. The domino or butterfly effect a it is sometimes called can have a very powerful impact on others, and ultimately the entire world. I have written about "synchronicity" as coined by Carl Jung before, and my poem "I Laughed a Smile" has a similar theme to this. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

A beautiful illustration of how our kind actions towards others has an ongoing effect, impacting multiple lives as the kindness is passed on. I agree with your words that just one positive word may change the day or encourage the life of someone. So true and thank you for your inspiring poem!

I've got chrysanthemums blooming in my yard right now. They, like your words, are messengers of encouragement and goodwill. Thanks for the inspiration.

Wonderful inspiring thoughts expressed. I'll think of my acts of kindness ( there should be more of them) as a domino from this day. L
