Don't Listen to the News
Don't listen to the news, it always cries the Blues,
Or at least don't pay those guys any attention.
You're hearing just a few, try to tell you what to do,
All are hoping that you have woe's retention.
In this old pond there is truth and just plain lies,
Know that there's quite a difference, my friends.
Live this great life, happy, freed from the strife,
With the new's absence, when happiness begins.
This pond is full of wild critters, all different colors,
Each one is not quite so different from the others.
Every one is so swell, don't buy what some sell,
We're just family, and are all sisters and brothers.
Any night on the news, just pick one, just choose,
They try to divide us with anger, all the bad scenes.
Attempting to mislead us, not respecting our trust,
There's much more to each story, than it seems.
There's always just a few, maybe one or two,
Bad taters when they're dropped in the stew,
But at supper, when done, found by not one,
No matter how good it tastes or asked by who.
All the frogs and the fish, enjoy every dish,
Just like the birds, turtles, and all the rest,
Turn off the news, they'll only try to confuse,
Convince us tall tales told, are just in jest.
If you listen to the news, just try not to confuse, facts from fiction,
Commentators explain, to our disdain, may just be a prediction.
Frogs like to croak, tell a funny joke, then take life less seriously,
Life is short we know, now time to show, we all can live fearlessly.
Make your own news, then by taking choices that you do choose,
We don't need others to make them for us; what have we to lose?
Always stay aware, just to show that we care, messages we send,
Brothers, sisters, at heart, each is a vital part, all do comprehend.
