Down For The Count

Updated on August 20, 2015

Going Back To Bed

It was like skipping school

Everyone is up and on with their day

Not us we quietly sneaked away

Fluffing our pillows

Climbing under the sheet

It didn't take long

We were both sound asleep

I had a dream

Very unusual and as soon as I woke

Everything I remembered was gone

It was if someone hit erase

I tried to wake my wife

I couldn't budge her

When she finally came to

In an almost silent tone

We should get up and eat

She pulled herself to the corner and lifted herself up

I rolled over and crawled in her spot

Closing my eyes one more time

Until my wife called out

Are you getting up ?

Reluctantly I said

I will be right there

We both got some much needed rest

When a hubber understands the message I try to tell my readers then I have written a poem that makes me happy. Other poems that I missed my target. I use them as stepping stones to my next one. Building on my talents and feeding on my emotions. Thank you for reading and sharing.Always a pleasure even if you say I lost you. I use it as constructive criticism to improve. My wife tells me all the time I don't know what you are talking about. I laugh and go back to the drawing board. My writing doesn't appeal to everyone. I think 90 % of my readers don't come back. It's the few loyal hubbers who hang in there through my good and bad. That I can't appreciate enough. Have a great day.

Stolen moments are the best moments, aren't they? I find even an extra fifteen minutes lifts my spirits as I begin my day...too bad I can't remember to do that daily. :) You know I love your poetry so I won't say it again. :)
