Dream Of Food

Updated on October 4, 2011

The music of blues playing my feeling
Slowly draining me in the drain
Completely shutting me down…

My eyes slowly closed
As I drifted along in my sleep
Walking into a new world
In my dream

In dream I’m craving for food
While my silent body tossing and turning
And my stomach is growling

Borborygmus became a solo
Continue swallowing my saliva
While resting my head on the pillow

Dreaming of catching donut
Chicken breast, ribs, and mashed potatoes gravy
Chomping each food in my own imagination
While in real life my stomach is thundering

Waking up from the last bite of food
I only remember rice and chicken…
My mind is craving for rice and chicken
That early morning…

Hi Nasser, thanks for the comment. Adult may dream of many things...sometime those dreams can be their wish as well.

Hi Chanroth, your poem localizes the elements of innocence sybolised by the poetic voice speaking in the tongue of a child who dreams of having food in a narrowed depiction. A children dream of food in their sleep; but the question is, what adults are dreaming of while asleep? voted interesting and up! Nasser.
