Dreams Of The First Born (poem)

Updated on July 13, 2015

My mother you must be ashamed of me

Your first I should have really been your best

Example of your dreams for all the rest

Instead you were the very first to flee

-

You were the reason I was richly blessed

Your ray of hope was never hard to see

And when you needed change there I would be

To help restore some order to your nest

-

My mother died so hurt I couldn’t cry

I was among the last to get the call

But after all she taught us to behave

-

They needed me so they could say goodbye

To cover up the shame displayed by all

I put a single flower on my grave

Music only

It's sad that he thinks he was a disappointment to his mother.

This represents a tragic reality in many families.....you said this gracefully. Just beautiful...UP++
