Drifting Through Life

Updated on August 31, 2013

Days drift on and on

Always something pushing them along

There seems to be so much to ponder

Days exchanging one for the other

Is it my imagination?

Or does every day

Have something new to say?

The soul constantly searches

For the peace it seeks

However in this modern world

It more often finds

Chaos not peace of mind

At times the bright colors

Which turn this world around

Turn to shades of gray

And seem to blend with darkness

That bring storm clouds your way

Where is the truth to be found?

The path through life

Just carries us along

We do the best we can

And hope our hearts will find

The contentment they seek

Childhood was so easy

I t made life seem so simple

Youth passes much too quickly

But you hope to find

The truth you seek

Keep your goals always in sight

Remember who you are

If you focus the colors

Will return to this world of ours

Leave behind shades of gray

Do not be afraid of what they say

The truth you seek

Is in the heavens above

Peace will come to you

As you blend with nature

Delight in the starry night

So never be afraid

To journey on in life

Always look to make your colors

Shine so very bright

You shed the color of hope, peace and light. I wish my grays would leave, but alas they hang to me and my Muse. Although I move forward always, enjoying each day given me. This is a very comforting poem my dear poet, thank you for spreading your light.

      Very sweet, my friend.

I 'm sure that you are doing better than 'drifting'. Walk, march, run, fly ...

Shades of grey are so very dull and how much better is the advice in your poem to travel life's journey wearing all the colours of God's rainbow - His promises to the world.

Your outlook on life, love, learning - and tolerance are inspirational, Rasma.

I do wish the world could read you - and then live, love, learn and tolerate!

sharing in the best of faith...

Karen is absolutely correct about you Eddy! I just read a story of a Native American elder explaining how to free ourselves from time , from moments and hours and their hold on us . "go and sit in nature for the day , Clear your mind and just let time make peace with your soul . Nothing stands completely still not our minds ,our souls , or our earth " Peace , serenity ! All to you my friend , you do have such a beautiful soul !.....Ed+++++

Life is a way of contrasting colors, using his own color chart is

      effectively the best solution

      nice poem

This poem sheds light and love on the path we walk through life. Absorbing the colors and helps to focus the colors in our life. Beautifully done Gypsy, as always.
