Drink My Friend Drink

Updated on October 19, 2014

I Don't Mind If I Do

As I take this cold drink in my hand

Grasping it with my fingers

Lowering it slowly to my mouth

I see the golden colors sparkle in the light

My lips puckered

Waiting for the first sip

It is a reminder of all things sweet

Satisfying and refreshing

So enticing that one drink is never enough

When this one is finished there will be the next one waiting in line

Looking forward to the same positive reinforcement

Can I please have another ?

Why stop when I was having so much fun

My body now a little more laid back

My mind kind of distant

Relaxed and almost certain it is on break

Every thing and everyone is so mellow

Yes now I said it

Why don't we all just chill

One more drink pppplllease

My words begin to slur together

Gulp, gulp I just downed another

Now my back begins to slouch

My eyes are glazed

My tongue moves rapidly up and down

Independently and free

With a mind of it's own

My stomach begins to growl

I just bit my lip

Maybe I should have stopped after just one

Don't you think ?

Then again what if I never had a drink at all

Instead I just had a verbal highball

Just fancy words on the rocks

With my eyes barely open

That was enough to put me right under the table

Gypsy Rose Lee Can I check all of the above and add I myself like a Long Island Ice Tea to make me feel weeeeeeeeeeeeee well relaxed.Thank you for reading and adding to make every writing even better. If I want to have something airy I turn to a tall frosty bottle of Coors Light. Almost to cold to drink. That's why I have to take one word at a time very slow not to get brain freeze.

I'd say it would be great to get drunk on words and emotions. Meanwhile in the wintertime I love to pour a cognac add a slice of lemon and then sip and inhale for a very long time.

MsDora I appreciate your help and want to thank you for your tips on grammar. My mind races with thoughts trying to find the best words that describe that feeling of having one too many. Then I decided to give it a twist and make our mind drunk with just words. A healthier way to explore the world so many adore. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts and feelings. Have a sensational Sunday.

"Maybe I should [have] stopped after just one." A really accurate description of seduction by a drink. I feel the temptation. Good lines!

Jodah Most people would never drink this early but I want to make an exception. Have a drink on me. Where our minds are set free. To enjoy all the pleasures in life without the cost. I got a buzz on and don't want to stop. I just wrote a hub I want to get as many of my fellow hubbers help. Can you help me ignite the fire ? One that will burn bright on the coldest nights. Thank you for all your support and comments that keep me writing. Have a beautiful Sunday. Heck have a great week. I can do better than that have an awesome month. Lets end the year with one big cheer.
