Drool - A Silly Little Poem From My Dog Bruce
Yes I drool
I know you don't think it's cool
You wipe my mouth with paper towels
I see how it makes you scowel
When you brush my neck
To get out all the stickiness
I want to yelp and call for help
But I refrain and remain
In my zone
Hoping I might get a bone
Sorry that the drool hits the walls
Some people would be quite appalled
I have to shake for goodness sakes
Not like I can stop it by putting on the brakes
So you ask why do I drool
Well I will tell you, you silly fool
My flew is deep
The drool seeps
That is the pocket that is the junction between the upper and lower lips. This area in my mouth is where the saliva is collected. So it collects and then it overflows at times. It has to go somewhere. I'm not the only breed that this happens to. It is quite common in other breeds too such as Boxers, Mastiffs, St. Bernard's, and others.
If you think I'm bad check out this dog!
So just remember this ...
"Slime flies when you're having fun" & "Spit Happens"
If you have a dog that is not normally a drooler, and he or she starts drooling, this could be an indication of health problems. It is always best to check with your animal care provider.
