Each River A Life.

Updated on November 6, 2012
Source

That newly born

gushing

babbling brook

cries out in sweet moments

of a new day.

Entices each heart to rise

and a love

so true is born.

A gushing warmth

like a deep

and

true love

for a

sweet

newborn baby's

birth!!

Source

Over each obstacle

meandering

slowly

softly

not wanting to

unsettle each protective moss.

This protective moss

so sweetly

protects this new life

against

the sharp corners

of life's cruelty!!

But even

in this stage of infancy;

lessons so gently learnt

until she is

flowing onwards into

a higher phase

of

learning ;

towards

those first stages of maturity!!!

In similar sweet passages

of a child's learning curve!!

A child growing into adolescence!!!

She

strongly flows

upwards

onwards

through each

day;

each

young

almost innocent moment

in time.

Each moss lovingly softens

those sharp edges

of each stone

each problem

each pain

as she

flows

meandering

around

and

over

on her way!!

Over and around each obstacle!

A moss which disguises those sharp corners of life's dawn.

Making life sweeter

softer

but as life is

as the river flows

the moss eventually disperses

until

by now she has to

feel

see

touch

each pain

in each

sharp corner !!

No longer avoidable

we must sit up

we must face up to

we must conquer

and

we must move on!!

These corners a learning curve;

each pain makes us wiser

each pain makes us stronger.!!!

Source

She meets her final stage

with an air of wisdom

so strong

so sure!!

Lessons are learnt

her happy heart expecting

and

accepting.

She continues to flow along

swelling with a gigantic force all the way up to high heaven

in a final stage of deep understanding!!

She eventually meets each estuary;

each path through life

each new day's dawn!!!

Choices to be made.

These estuaries

take us in varied direction

on jeach ourney through life!!!

A choice to be made with a

strong

honest

and

wise

heart.

We deserve that true choice

we need that true choice;

Simply remember:-

Oh yes which one is ours to decide!!!!

I wish you all a wonderful day.

Eddy.

What an amazing journey ...you wound is in and out and around and through bringing the young one to her point of understanding and readiness to embrace what comes to make those choices...the moss falling away to allow that to happen. Much like setting the little bird free to see if it really was yours at all. The flowing river theme is captivating.

      Lovely Eddy.

As a child eases around the bends, the unknowns still lie ahead. Decisions made will determine the paths followed and further obstacles in the way. This can even continue into adulthood as we make our life's decisions and follow those into the unknown. Great job!

I have always had a fascination with rivers, and they were always a part of my geography classes. They make perfect metaphors for life, do they not? Obviously you understand this, with this beautiful poem of life.

I am reminded of the Garth Brooks song, "The River." If you do not know it, it is worth a listen.

      blessings and peace always,

      billy

      Hi Eddy,

Relating the different stages of life to that of a river was brilliant. The music in that video near the top had such lovely music while I was absorbing the meaning of your poetry. Many up votes! Enjoy the rest of your river of life and hope that there is lots of moss to soften and cushion any sharp edges along the way. :)

From a drop of rain to a sea the rivers flow and I thought that was so beautiful and creative how you mixed the birth of a fertile female and life with a river.

Eddy another beautiful piece of work and the comparison between the river and our life journey is a very wonderful way to express or winding and often painful road! I love the move between the innocence of youth into the wisdom of age - this was awesome!

Oh Eddy, this brought tears to my eyes. I'm going to be a grandmother in January - at last - and my first grandchild is to be a girl.  Charlotte Renee (Charlie) is awaited by all in the family with great love. I’ve printed out this beautiful poem to give to her as part of her first gift from Nanna. Thank you for this precious poetry.

Oh Genna this is so sweet and I am so very touched that you are giving this to your Little Charlie. This has touched me more than I can say and only one thing I ask that you send me a pic of this little treasure.

My grandson is called Charlie and I also love it as a girl's name too.Another one I like is Morgan............

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I wish you a wonderful time leading up to little Charlie's birth because after I know your life will be so blessed. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

      Lots of love................
