Daddy, Is the Easter Bunny in Heaven with Mommy?

Updated on September 10, 2015

Is the Easter Bunny with Mommy in Heaven

Daddy, what is Easter she asked with her little face

and big brown eyes looking up at him,

Does the Easter Bunny live in Heaven with Mommy?

Can we name him Tim?

Tell me the story of Mommy again,

You saw her in church when they said Amen.

With Tears in His Voice He Answered

Her Daddy had tears in his voice,

He had to answer her--- he had no choice.

Her Daddy said she was so beautiful in her dress of blue,

And, it matched her eyes too.

Her hair was long and blonde,

And, men surrounded her--- who wanted to bond.

I knew I had to speak to her just once that day,

So through the church people I made my way.

When I reached her side,

I heard a guy offer her a ride.

And, before she answered, I whispered in her ear,

Are you ready for our picnic my Dear?

Her eyes and smile never gave me away,

And, I will always love her to this day.

So arm in arm we left the church, and her Bible I -----did carry,

She walked down the same aisle to me weeks later----- to marry.

I could not love anyone more than I do you and your Mother,

I do not think I could feel such a great love for another.

But Daddy, Cindy has a new mommy, and she loves her so much,

Can we get a new mommy and take her to lunch?

Does the Easter Bunny live with Mommy and Baby Jesus too?

What question do you want answered first my baby true?

I don’t know Daddy; I think I want a new Mommy to hold me again,

And, when we are in church she can whisper Amen.

Then I want to give Baby Jesus an Easter Basket by his cross,

On Easter morning at early sunrise church time,

when we go with Granny Moss.

And, Daddy, why are there three crosses, and why do people cry?,

When I am four will you tell me why?

How far is Heaven Daddy, can we fly up there?

Are there stairs to Heaven Daddy? We are going where?

He looked in wonder as the questions bounced off his ears,

When she is older, will I cheer or should I fear?

Daddy, is my bedtime story over now?

Can I sleep will all my stuffed animals—somehow?

She turned her three ear old lips up for a good night kiss,

Good night Mommy, Baby Jesus, and Daddy can I make a wish?

Yes, my Darling go ahead,

He was so tired and wanted his bed.

I wish that we will be a family here in our home,

With a new Mommy, we're not alone.

Go sleep Darling tomorrow we will make Easter eggs to hide,

Then you and your little friends can find them side by side.

I love you, Daddy, and now I will sleep,

Dear Lord I pray my soul you will keep.

So she went to sleep to dream of a pink bunny,

She giggled in her sleep---because he was funny.

And, candy of rainbow colors--- floated all around in her dream,

With some landing on her cone of ice cream.

She chased Lollipops around in her room,

All the colors of a rainbow---she flew on a broom.

Finally it was morning and she had missed her rest,

But her dreams were the most fun---so that was best.

Little girl's and their life of sugar and spice,

Makes their dreams so nice.

Little Boys Love Easter Too

When little boys run and play,

They are happily active every day.

But when the “Easter Egg Hunt” will soon start,

They are so silent---one can hear the beat of their heart.

And, then a mom or dad says: “Go,”

You had better watch out---you know.

For in their excitement sometimes they step on an Easter egg,

Then you will feel tiny arms wrapped around your leg.

And, when you look down upon that sad face,

You kiss away the little frown and put happiness in its place.

Oh! My precious boys,

Who plays with their favorite tough toys.

Can be so gentle,

With my boys I am so sentimental.

So beautiful and compelling, Easter is about the cross and the empty tomb, but it is also about children (all of us.)

Catch this one, and it's perfect: "She turned her three ear old lips...." Up and awesome.
