Elaborate Show

Updated on February 5, 2015
Source

The angels were shocked,

the spirits would glow,

right before them was an elaborate show,

on one counter,

small broken teeth on a silver tray,

and a little girl’s bloodied clothes,

laid out carefully in a graphic display,

the angels with horrified looks,

stared at the other table,

that had the girl’s book bag and school books,

sorrow came in droves,

as ghosts were hovering

over the dead girl’s clothes.

Frank, few words with powerful meanings and implications. So much for us to think and wonder about. Hopefully the angels brought her home!

So nicely done. You have left just enough to the imagination of the reader...leave us wanting more...and yet, it is such an ugly subject we cringe in wanting more. Powerful writing, Frank.

I am sure angels see all kinds of examples of man's inhumanity to man. That little girl would now be in a much better place than whatever happened to her in this life.

The Grand Illusion. And that is not Styx, although they are a pretty good Chi-town band. Ah, Frank, so sorry yours true has missed your writings for a while. You have a special gift for telling things that I, and so many others, can think and become a part of, what you remind us.

You managed to portray a shocking and graphic scene, leaving no closure on her fate and all neatly parcelled in a few lines.

      Nicely crafted Mr Atanacio.

Disturbing one here, Frank. Your title is interesting as to that "elaborate show" evil does like to put on for sure, but then there is that after show that burns for an eternity for such evil ...

and the girl who is taken into His arms of where no tear shall ever touch her cheek forevermore.

      Blessings

It is eerie in its own way Frank. I am sure that the angels handled it in an awesome way to clean it all up. You have written a verse which comes through again. Very good. It gets a thumbs up, awesome and more.
